Module 9: Assessment and Evaluation

ISTE C-2 calls for technology coaches to help teachers use technology effectively for assessing student learning, differentiating instruction, and providing rigorous, relevant and engaging learning experiences for all students.

Differentiated Instruction

ISTE C-2-e calls for technology coaches to help teachers "model design and implementation of technology-enhanced learning experiences using differentiation, including adjusting content, process, product and learning environment based on student readiness levels, learning styles, interests and personal goals." The process of adjusting technology to suit the student's individual differences is called differentiated instruction.

Data-based Decision Making

ISTE C-2-h calls for technology coaches to help teachers "model effective use of technology tools and resources to systematically collect and analyze student achievement data, interpret results, and communicate findings to improve instructional practice and maximize student learning." In educational practice, this process of making educational decisions based on actual data is known as data-based decision making.
