How to configure Outlook to view and send messages from a shared mailbox

Outlook 2003

NOTE
These instructions require that the shared mailbox has already been set up by Network and System Services (NSS).

  1. To view a shared mailbox:
    1. From the Tools menu, click Email Accounts.
    2. Select View or Change Existing email account.
    3. Click Next.
    4. Highlight Microsoft Exchange server.
    5. Click Change.
    6. Click More Settings.
    7. Click the Advanced tab.
    8. Type the name of the shared mailbox (e.g., us-test@udel.edu).
  2. To send from a shared mailbox:
    1. Click New and type your message.
    2. From the Options menu, click Show From.
    3. Type the name of the shared mailbox in the From field.

Outlook 2007

NOTE

  1. To view a shared mailbox:
    1. From the Tools menu, click Account Settings.
    2. Click the Email tab.
    3. Click Change.
    4. Click More Settings.
    5. Click the Advanced tab.
    6. Click Add.
    7. Type the name of the shared mailbox (e.g., us-test).
    8. Click OK. (Your shared mailbox should appear on the left with your list of folders.)
  2. To send from a shared mailbox:
    1. Click New and type your message.
    2. From the Options menu, click Show From.
    3. Type the name of the shared mailbox in the From field.
