Grant Wolf was promoted to Assistant Professor in recognition of his distinguished work in teaching, service and scholarly activity. Sarah Petersen, Ken Cranker and Anne Owen were awarded full-time faculty appointments as a result of a national search.

Teachers Kristen Shrewsbury and Jackie Sumner left ELI. Kristen is teaching at James Madison University in Virginia and Jackie has a full-time position at Prince George’s Community College in Maryland. Rebecca (Nessenthaler) Toner took a leave of absence to care for her newborn daughter, Lily Grace.

Long time tutors Nick Chiasson, Frank Fierro, Nick Andrea, and Jason Lilley have left the Tutoring Center to pursue new adventures. Tutor Amanda Doran has moved to Philadelphia with her husband and is taking a year off to care for their newborn daughter, Lillian.

Veteran tutor Isabel Whitaker retired this summer after more than 16 years of dedicated service and is living near one of her sons in Virginia. She may be reached at 201 Wheatland Court #C6, Christiansburg, VA 24073.

Staff Office coordinator Linda Morris, whose kind and gentle ways endeared her to students and staff alike, retired in March. ELI welcomed her successor, Saundra Chapman, in January. Kelly Galvin, who married and is now Kelly Lewis, left her position as admissions and recruitment coordinator to begin a family. Laurie Fuhrmann has stepped up to succeed Kelly as interim coordinator.
