Homestay families are special

Host and Homestay coordinator Nancy Purcell and student friends at the summer host family picnic

The Homestay and Host Family programs credit another successful year to the ongoing commitment of over 200 families living in and around the Newark area. Families continue to provide a home-away-from-home atmosphere to ELI students who choose to live with an American family (Homestay program) and those who prefer to “be adopted” by an American family for occasional get-togethers such as dinners on the weekend, or special family events (Host Family program).

Coordinator Nancy Purcell, who this year was assisted by ELI grad Carolina McAneny, reports having placed more than 300 students this past year and looks forward to placing an even greater number of students in the upcoming year. For more information on these programs, contact Purcell at rtp3@aol.com and visit www.elihomestaydelaware.com.
