This year I traveled to Miami, my daughter to Costa Rica for research,
but the best part of 2004 was catching up with old friends and
former
students––it’s such a thrill to see you and hear from you. Peace!

Happiest holiday greetings
from Japan, where Debbie
and I are teaching
at Kobe Shoin Women’s University. We are learning so much about living
in a foreign country and gaining new respect for ELI students who master
English. Wishing you
all a happy, successful and peaceful year.

Hello and happy holidays! I hope all is well.

My dear students, on September 26, 2004, my beloved mother passed away.
Some of you met her, so you know what a vibrant and vital person she
was. I am going
to miss her terribly. Also, as of June 30, 2005, I am retiring from full-time
teaching. My final official day in the classroom will be December 16,
2004. I will be on sabbatical leave from January through June 2005. Dr.
Stevens
has invited
me to return from time to time to teach a course at ELI, which I hope
to do. Thank you for the wonderful memories you have given me! I will
carry
those moments
and your faces in my heart forever. Love and warmest wishes for peace
and happiness all the rest of your lives.
: gerald.petersen@verizon.net
I miss
you all! May your new year be filled with good things.

Happy New Year

ways. I’ve also been able to travel to Australia and Hawaii, and before
I leave I plan to visit Cambodia and
China. Keep in touch.
