The Safety Beacon is distributed across the University to raise awareness about Environmental Health and Safety issues.
Biosafety training is offered via the EHS Online Training Program and staff presentation. This training is required for all persons working in labs with biological materials.
This training is offered via the EHS Online Training Program and staff presentation. This training is required for persons covered by OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogens Standard. It requires initial training prior to exposure and annually thereafter.
This training can be offered by staff presentation or by the researcher’s supervisor or principal investigator. It is also offered via the EHS Online Training Program. This training is required for all persons working in research laboratories. This training should cover the specific hazards and required protective measures for the chemicals used by a researcher. Initial training is required prior to working with hazardous chemicals and whenever a new process, experiment or chemical is introduced or at least annually. This training is offered in multiple formats; including the EHS Online Training Program, PowerPoint, and staff presentation. This training is required for persons who generate chemical waste. It requires initial training prior to generating waste and annually thereafter.
This training is provided by Environmental Health and Safety staff presentation. Persons entering or attending a confined space entry must be trained prior to participation. Refresher training should be provided annually.

This training is offered in two formats; an in person staff presentation and online. This course is required for all personnel and students who will work with chemicals in a lab or use a fume hood or other specialized laboratory ventilation.

This training is offered through the EHS Online Training Program and staff presentation. This training is required for anyone working on a Recombinant DNA project that is covered under the NIH guidelines.
This training is offered by Environmental Health & Safety staff presentation. This training is required for all persons wearing respiratory protection. The training is done initially accompanied by respirator fit testing. Refresher training should be performed annually.
This training is offered in two formats; including the EHS Online Training Program, and by Environmental Health & Safety in person staff presentation. Right-to-Know training is designed for individuals who don't work with chemicals.
This training is offered by Environmental Health & Safety staff presentation and online. This training is required for all workers prior to the use of devices that produce x-rays.
