From the Editor
Decades before the founding of our nation, the hallmarks of the Blue Hen character were already clear: We would share a fightin’ spirit to persevere and prevail. We would be defined by our knowledge, courage and grit, from our first African-American graduate, who pursued higher education in a state plagued by slavery, to the life-saving scholarship of those who now push the boundaries of discovery. Today, our students start companies that earn millions. Our English majors chase earthquakes. Our alumni confront death to conquer their dreams, and our team always plays to win.
There’s much more to who and all we are, but here’s another to add to the list—no one celebrates UD better than our alumni.
