    Registration and Payment

Students at participating community colleges pay the site instruction rate to the University of Delaware. Students should first contact the community college and pay the "community college participation fee." The community college will issue a "Participation Agreement Form." This form should then be submitted to the University of Delaware with the "Credit Course Registration From" and the "Course Instruction Fees" form.

Please call the UD Online office for telephone numbers at participating community colleges for more information.

    Videotaped and CD Courses

    Videotape and CD Procedures

One set of videotapes or CDs per student is sent to the community college and is on loan for the semester. Extensions on course work do not apply to the videotapes themselves, which must be returned on schedule.

    Videotape and CD Problems

Occasionally a videotape or CD will be defective. Please notify the UD Online Annex immediately for a replacement videotape. (302/831-1078 or 1-800-597-1444 long distance only).

    Returning Videotapes and CDs

Sites are responsible for returning course videotapes and CDs to the UD Online Annex at the end of each semester. The UD Online inventory staff will inform site coordinators of return deadlines for each semester. Please note that occasionally an instructor may grant an extension to a student to complete course work after the semester deadline, but this extension does not apply to the videotapes or CDs. They must be returned to the UD Online Annex promptly. This enables students who are registered for the next semester to receive their materials on time. The only exception to this occurs when other students register for the same course at the community college for the upcoming semester. In this case, videotapes and CDs may stay at the same site between semesters. The packing list should be enclosed in the box when the videotapes and CDs are returned. There will be a $10 per tape fee for missing videotapes and CDs. Please make sure sets are complete. For complete sets that are ready by a designated pick-up date, a free tape and CD return system is available to the site coordinator. This free return system is implemented only during specific time periods designated by the UD Online Annex. Please contact the UD Online Annex for details at 302/831-1078 or 1-800-597-1444 (long-distance only). Please do not enclose any other correspondence or course assignments with the videotapes and CDs.

    Overdue Videotapes and CDs

Students whose videotapes and CDs are overdue will have a financial hold placed on their University accounts equal to the replacement cost of the set of videotapes (a minimum of $180 per course). Students with financial holds on their accounts cannot register for future courses or receive transcripts from the University. Students with a tape hold history will not be permitted to register for future UD Online courses without the specific permission of their dean or advisor.

    Scheduling Exams

At the beginning of the semester, you will either receive a course syllabus from the UD Online office or you will purchase it from the UD Bookstore. The syllabus will include information on assignments and exams for most non-nursing courses in which you enroll. Most non-nursing course exams are handled by the UD Online office. Approximately two weeks before the date of an exam, the exam will be sent to your site coordinator. It is your responsibility to contact your site coordinator to schedule a time to take the exam. Please refer to your syllabus for instructions concerning exam deadlines and faculty policies.

The UD Online office requires that all non-nursing exams (whether taken or not) be returned to the University by the Friday of the scheduled exam week. After mid-semester no exams will be sent out to the site for students whose first exam has not been taken and returned to the UD Online office, unless special permission has been granted by the faculty member.

After you complete the exam, your site coordinator will send it to the UD Online office. The exam then will be forwarded to your instructor for grading. Depending on your instructor's grade notification procedure, you will receive either the graded exam or an exam-grade report.

Graduating seniors need to notify faculty and the UD Online office of their status and arrange special exam dates.

Exams for nursing courses are handled by the College of Health and Nursing Sciences, whose Division of Special Programs will send students specific instructions for nursing courses.

    Exam Security

Incidents of academic misconduct at the examination site, although rare, are subject to University procedures for handling cases of academic dishonesty. Students are encouraged to read the abbreviated brochure on Academic Honesty and Dishonesty that is mailed at the beginning of each semester.

    Other Community College Site Issues

Your site coordinator will receive registration and information forms from the UD Online office during the registration period before each semester. Students registered in previous semesters also will receive forms and information. If you do not receive upcoming course information by the end of the semester in which you are currently enrolled, please call 302/831-3581 or 1-800-597-1444 (long distance only).
