Transition to Canvas (T2C) Update
In September, UD IT formally announced that Sakai will be retired on Dec. 22, 2018. UD currently supports both Sakai and Canvas, but has launched the Transition to Canvas (T2C) initiative to move the University to one system.
IT Academic Technology Services (IT-ATS) has been assisting faculty and staff with T2C by offering workshops, one-on-one consultations, and department-sponsored consultations. Faculty have been successfully moving to Canvas: 2,531 spring semester sections are using Canvas, a 244% increase from spring 2017. 810 sections are using Sakai, a 57% decrease since last spring.
The transition team has also recently announced that they will be supporting faculty and staff through virtual support calls. Check out upcoming workshops, or request a consultation.
In December, IT-ATS launched a monthly T2C newsletter to help keep those transitioning up-to-date on changes, new tools, and tips for migrating their course. Newsletter articles are published on the T2C Blog. If you would like to be added to this mailing list, send email to t2c-info@udel.edu.

Classroom Upgrades
University Media Services (IT-UMS) AV and Classroom Technology staff continued the ongoing digital upgrade of AV technology in centrally scheduled classrooms by overseeing the installation of all new digital equipment in 11 Purnell Hall classrooms. Completed in January, these rooms received new digital processors, projectors, document cameras, Blu-Ray DVD players, audio systems, and touch pads.
