PreMBA program strengthens links with UD MBA program

ELI’s PreMBA program continues to build a strong partnership with the University of Delaware’s Lerner School of Business and Economics. ELI students who are academically and professionally qualified may be considered for “preferred admission” to the University of Delaware’s MBA program upon the completion of all four courses of the PreMBA program.

“The ELI experience is a critical factor in the success of our international MBA candidates,” said Gloria Diodato, assistant dean of graduate and executive education at Lerner.

Students considered under the agreement must complete PreMBA coursework with a B+ or better average, pass the TOEFL with a score of 250/260, and be recommended by PreMBA coordinator and instructor Mary Long.

“Not only does this agreement strengthen ELI’s link with the UD MBA program,” said Long, “but it also recognizes that the PreMBA program provides an array of rigorous academic and linguistic courses to prepare these ELI students for graduate study.”

The PreMBA program consists of four courses: Advanced Business Case Studies, Essentials (GMAT and graduate school application preparation), Managerial Communications, and The Entrepreneur: The Written Business Plan, developed jointly by Long and the Delaware Small Business Development Center.

Several ELI PreMBA students now study in the UD MBA program.

“Such a strong representation of former students shows the viability of the PreMBA program as preparation for high quality MBA programs,” said Long.
