Triggers and Special Effects

Triggers and Special Effects

In chapter 1, you learned that multimedia is the use of a computer to present and combine text, graphics, audio, and video with links and tools that let the user navigate, interact, create, and communicate. Without triggers, there would be no way to interact, because there would be nothing onscreen to click when the user wanted to change the course of action. In this module, you learn how to create triggers that enable the user to make choices, decide how to navigate through your multimedia objects, and choose to see and hear your special effects.

Readings

Chapters 22 through 25 present the concepts covered by this module. After Chapter 22 teaches you how to manipulate objects, Chapter 23 proceeds to show you how to create the triggers that enable users to choose how to interact with your application. Then Chapter 24 shows you how to make judicious use of special effects, and Chapter 25 goes further into audio effects that you can create by recording sound on your own.
