Chief’s Office

The Chief’s Office is responsible for the overall administration of the Department. If you would like to contact Chief Ogden, or any member of the Command Staff, please contact police@udel.edu.

Financial Services

Financial Services oversees the Police Department budget and departmental billing. Any questions in regards to billing may be directed to 831-4146 or police@udel.edu.

Recruitment/Employment

The Recruitment/Employment section is responsible for the administration of all full-time hiring processes for the Department, including Police, Security, Communications and Administrative positions. For more information on employment opportunities, please see the Employment page.

Records Management

To request a copy of a collision report, contact the Records Division at 302-831-2683 or records-udpd@udel.edu. Walk up requests will not be accepted. The cost for each single collision report copy is $25; fees must be paid in advance. Collision reports will be available within 2-3 business days of the request; older reports may take additional time to acquire.

The University of Delaware Police will not release any copies of criminal history information. All requests for information need to be through the Delaware State Bureau of Identification (302) 739-5871.

Victims of a crime are entitled to a free victim’s copy of a report.

Professional Standards and Development

It is paramount that the department follows all the policies and procedures set forth to its members. Professional Standards & Development is responsible for ensuring all its members adhere to the policies and procedures outlined by the department. This unit is also responsible for implementing and assigning members of the department to training initiatives, both internal and external. The department is committed to ongoing, specialized training for its employees to ensure that quality services are delivered to the University community at a professional level.

It is the policy of the department to investigate all complaints received from the public and its employees and thoroughly investigate any complaints. The resulting Internal Affairs Statistical Summary is available online.
