Personnel notes

ELI was pleased to welcome back Janet Louise after two years' teaching at Kobe Shoin Women's University in Kobe, Japan.

John Pickett, orientation assistant for the past two years, has "retired" to resume full time studies at the University. A friend to hundreds of ELI alumni, John promises to visit the ELI frequently.

Wolf family
ELI instructor Grant Wolf's family expanded this year. Here he and his wife Debbie pose with son Gregory, 7, and their new daughter, Bahiya, 3, adopted from Ethiopia.

ELI's orientation coordinator, David Quayle, an officer in the Army Reserves, was called to active duty for up to one year. David will be greatly missed, but will return after his term of service.

In the Tutoring Center, several long-term tutors moved on for personal or professional reasons. LaVerne Joyce returned to her beloved Santa Rosa, California, to be with her sons and grandchildren. Marie Gleason has accepted a position as coordinator for study abroad programs at the University's Study Abroad Office. Kerry Ann Erickson now works at a local bank. Chandra Flint accepted a full time position at Swarthmore College. She is now known as Chandra Yesiltas, having married ELI alumnus Ridvan Yesiltas. We wish them a lifetime of happiness.
