External Resources

The breadth of resources for underrepresented populations at the national level are extensive. In particular, the National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity offers tele-workshops designed to meet the needs of advanced graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and faculty members. Below are more institutions which provide advice and guidance for success in the world of higher education.

Academic Diversity Search, Inc. (ADS) is a nationwide employment resource specializing in connecting women and minorities with academic institutions that truly value diversity. more >

American Association of University Professors

Website for the national association who assists in assuring the freedom and standards of teaching in higher education. Very interested in diversity and equal opportunity, the website has listings of committees devoted to underrepresented faculty issues, articles and news on diversifying campuses. more >

American Association of University Women

Membership based society promoting equal education for women and girls and professional educators. They do have links to other related sites including several that contain job postings, databases and other career related resources. There is advertising available in the AAUW publications, information given on their website. Posting on their website page, Job market, in the Marketplace section is also an option. more >

American Council on Education

Organization uniting 1800 colleges and universities with an overall objective to promote equal opportunity within the higher education system. Site also maintains resume banks for top administrative positions. more >

Association of American Colleges and Universities

DiversityWeb is a project of AAC&U's Office of Diversity, Equity, and Global Initiatives (ODEGI). Central to the office's mission is the belief that diversity and global knowledge are essential elements of any effort to foster civic engagement among today's college students. To support those goals, the office helps colleges and universities establish diversity as a comprehensive institutional commitment and educational priority. more >

Center for Equal Opportunity

The CEO addresses issues of equality across all institutions receiving government funds. more >

Undergraduates representing the University of Delaware, Delaware State University, Wesley College, Delaware Technical and Community College and Lincoln University take part in summer research internships sponsored by the Delaware Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR), a program funded jointly by the National Science Foundation and the state of Delaware. more >

Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities

The University of Delaware is proud to be a member of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) which represents 450 colleges and universities committed to the Hispanic higher education success in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Latin American, Spain and Portugal. more >

Preparing Future Faculty

The Sloan Foundation - Research Fellowships

The Sloan Research Fellowships seek to stimulate fundamental research by early-career scientists and scholars of outstanding promise. These two-year fellowships are awarded yearly to 118 researchers in recognition of distinguished performance and a unique potential to make substantial contributions to their field. more >
