Demonstrate
Putting it all together
Demonstrate what you know...can do...have done.
When you are ready to select artifacts and present a completed portfolio, keep your audience in mind. It is easy to customize an e-portfolio when needed, you do not have to use the same one each time.
Choose the right artifacts for the e-portfolio
First make good decisions about the artifacts you select. Talk to your advisor and career counselor about what should be included when applying for employment versus applying for graduate school. Also, choose the pages that make you stand out from the next person. What will make you the right choice for that position? Remember you are showcasing yourself.
Check your site
Remember to check your site thoroughly prior to sharing with your intended audience. You do not want someone to have trouble navigating your site, viewing an image, an audio or video file, or clicking an active link.
It is a good idea to have a peer, advisor or counselor preview your e-portfolio. If needed, use services on campus like the UD Writing Center to help with different aspects of your portfolio.
Share the portfolio
How you share your portfolio is up to you. You will be able to make it public, meaning you can get a URL for your site and send it to anyone to whom you want to give access (e.g. through e-mail). You can selectively choose who should have access and have the system notify those users. You can allow comments on your portfolio if desired.
Remember, at any time that you are not ready to share your e-portfolio with an audience, you can make it inactive.
