You can change a description to a folder name, but it's not obvious how to change the description later.
To change the folder description, go to the view of the folder. Click on the folder. You'll see the folder name at the top of the window above "Share", "Move to", "Delete", Rename", etc. Point to the folder name and click. A text box appears (you can change the name of the folder here) and below the text box, you'll see where you can add or change the folder description.

Xming enables computer users to access the university servers and use apps like "Matlab" and other software for academic class required work.
The Help Center provides instructions for installing XWindows on your Windows system. Using Xming with an SSH client program lets you run applications on Unix hosts (e.g., Strauss) but have the graphical display, keyboard and mouse managed by your PC. This is useful for many mathematical, statistical and engineering applications (e.g., Matlab, SAS, GAMBIT).

CSS Styles are the best way to format text in a web site.
Instead of using 'font' tags for each paragraph and cluttering your HTML code with endless font tags you can simply make a style with the a specified font type, size and color and use it throughout the site. Styles can be used in tables, rows, and cells. Styles can also be used for form objects. The possibilities are endless when you use style sheets.

If you want more info about your Macintosh files than the standard icon view provides (it just gives you the file’s name in icon view) then turn on Show Item Info.
Show Item info adds an extra line of information below many files and folders that can be very useful. For example, now not only do you get a folder’s name, but just below the name (in unobtrusive light-blue, 9-point type), you’ll see how many items are in that folder. If the file is an image, the Item Info shows you how big it is. MP3 files show how long the song is, etc.
To turn on Show Item Info for your current Finder window, press Command+J to bring up its View Options. Then turn on the checkbox for Show Item Info. If you want to show the item info for every window (globally), then choose the All Windows button at the top of the dialog.
Windows 7 allows you to generate useful information about your laptop's power consumption.
If you have a laptop, you can use the efficiency calculator to get Windows 7 to generate loads of useful information about its power consumption. Used in the right way, this can help you make huge gains in terms of battery life and performance. To do this you must open a command prompt as an administrator by typing 'cmd' in Start Search, and when the cmd icon appears, right-click it and choose Run as administrator.
Then at the command line, just type in 'powercfg -energy' (without quotes) and hit Return, and Windows 7 will scan your system looking for ways to improve power efficiency. It will then publish the results in an HTML file, usually in the System32 folder. Just follow the path it gives you to find your report.
