Applying National Standards to Improve Educational Results

Rubrics in the EDTC Program Assessment Plan

According to specifications of the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), which accredits the University of Delaware's teacher education programs, the EDTC program assessment plan consists of eight performances that candidates must complete in order to earn the Master of Education in Educational Technology degree. Seven of these performances are products that candidates create during the program. The other performance is Grades In Courses, in which the student must maintain at least a B (3.0) or higher grade average in the program.

EDTC candidates who are working to earn the Technology Facilitation (TF) Endorsement are evaluated using rubrics based on the ISTE-TF standards. All other EDTC candidates are evaluated using rubrics based on the AECT-SMETS standards.

The tables below depict the manner in which the eight program assessments align with the standards. Follow the quick links in the sidebar to view the rubrics that the EDTC faculty use to evaluate candidate performances.
