WILMINGTON- INDIAN HEAD TAVERN

This tavern was one of the centers of Wilmington life. At the corner of Fourth and Market Streets, Tavern keeper David Brinton hosted important guests, like congressmen traveling up or down the coast. Henry Latimer may have come here to meet with them, or share a drink. He also would have come here to catch a stage coach to Washington D.C., or to pick up a package, because Mr. Brinton also ran a stage depot and a post office.
