Calculating Units/ Credit Hours

This is most accurately done if you convert meeting hours into minutes. The following is an example of how to compute the required meeting minutes/week for a course. Using a 4-credit course that wants to meet twice/week as an example (per above, 48 hours/term are required; 14 weeks in a term):

48 hours x 60 minutes = 2880 minutes.
2880 minutes / 14 weeks = 205 minutes
205 minutes / 2 days = 102.8 minutes

The course must meet 105 minutes both days (102.8 is rounded to nearest 5 min. increment).
