Professor Karl Booksh Appointed Chair of ACS CWD and To The NSF Committee on Equal Opportunities in Science and Engineering

Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Delaware and analytical chemist Professor Karl Booksh has recently been appointed to Chair the American Chemical Society's (ACS) Chemists with Disabilities (CWD) committee. 

The committee's mission is to promote opportunities-educational and professional-for persons with disabilities interested in pursuing careers in chemistry and in fields requiring the knowledge of chemistry, and demonstrate the capabilities of those persons to educators, employers, and peers.

Professor Booksh has also recently been appointed by the National Science Foundation to their Committee on Equal Opportunities in Science and Engineering (CEOSE). CEOSE is a congressionally mandated advisory committee to the National Science Foundation (NSF). The purpose of this committee is to advise NSF on the implementation of provisions established in 1980 by the United States Congress aimed to ensure and encourage full participation of women, minorities, and other groups currently underrepresented in scientific, engineering, and professional fields
