TRACY O. HUDSON, COORDINATOR AND LITERACY SPECIALIST

PROFESSIONAL RESUME

During her 30 years in public education, Tracy Hudson has served roles as a secondary reading teacher, elementary teacher, Special Education Coordinator, Reading Specialist and administrator. Her responsibilities included coordinating and meeting with the district’s principals, Reading Specialists, ELL teachers, counselors, and Mentor Coordinator. During her tenure as Reading Specialist, her school was recognized as a NCLB National Distinguished Blue Ribbon School and National Distinguished Title I School by the U.S. Department of Education. Her school was also recognized with the Fordham University Change Award, Ed Trust “Closing the Achievement Gap” Award, and Exemplary HOSTS Mentoring Program. She was selected for the Indian River High School Hall of Fame, the Superintendent’s Award of Excellence and the Delaware Chamber of Commerce Superstars in Education Award.

PATRICIA A. BUNTING, SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHING SPECIALIST

PROFESSIONAL RESUME

Patti has 33 years of special and regular education teaching experience at the pre kindergarten through fifth grade and high school levels.  She earned National Board Teacher Certification (Early Childhood Generalist) in 2006. During past summers, she has taught summer school for at risk students and has been a math consultant for a publishing company.  During her teaching career, Patti was an Odyssey of the Mind Coach, district lead math teacher, building mentor coordinator for new teachers, practicum mentor for undergraduate education majors, and led teachers as they aligned curriculum and the state standards.  She was Frankford Elementary School’s Teacher of the Year (2004).  In 2008, Patti was awarded the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching as state finalist and presented at the I Teach K National Conference.

 

MOLLI M. CARTER, SECONDARY MATHEMATICS TEACHING SPECIALIST

PROFESSIONAL RESUME

With nearly ten years of classroom experience at both the middle and high school levels, Molli Carter has taught a number of subjects including middle school mathematics, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics, and AP Statistics. During her tenure as a high school mathematics teacher, Molli’s school was recognized as the 2006 Intel Schools of Distinction winner. Molli has presented at local and national educational conferences. She is well-versed in technology currently being implemented in mathematics, ranging from graphing calculators to SMART technology. Molli assisted in structuring curriculum for a newly implemented summer school program, and she has helped lead monthly professional development sessions for teachers new to using software and cooperative learning in mathematics instruction. She is a certified national trainer for one such program.

TIMOTHY P. YOUNG, SECONDARY SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHING SPECIALIST

PROFESSIONAL RESUME

Tim Young's career as a social studies educator spans over 36 years in Delaware and Maryland.  His experience  includes teaching at the middle, high school and college levels.  He has served on the committee that wrote the Delaware State Social Studies Standards, has mentored 27 student teachers, and organized over 200 field trips. Tim has also  presented social studies content at state, regional, and national conferences, as well as serving on Middle States, National History Day, and AP committees. He is past President of the Delaware Council for the Social Studies, and currently serves as a consultant for various state and local social studies initiatives. Tim has received Seaford's Friend of Education award, the Order of the First State, and was selected as Delaware's State Teacher of the Year in 1990.
