In 2002, Delaware was awarded the Reading First Grant and began the application process for qualified schools to apply for funding.

Our Mission
It is our mission to ensure that all students have the opportunity to receive effective reading instruction that is research based and targeted to meet individual needs of students.
Students in Reading First schools engage in learning events catered to their specific needs. If an instructional approach does not produce positive results (as evidenced through continuous progress monitoring), teachers recognize the need to try a different approach.
