The process of reading history entails much
more than opening a book and poring over the written text.
Whether at home, at work, or during our leisure
time, we are surrounded by history "Texts" that tell
us about daily life, family aspirations, beliefs and vocations.
For educators, these unwritten texts can open a window for our
students to broader themes of social class, culture, economics
and geography.
Join us this year as we learn how to analyze,
read and understand the significance of material objects from the
past. In the process, we will show you how to pass on these skills
to your students so that they can become more astute observers
of the past as well as the world around them.
