Client profile

The first step in designing an informational project is to understand your client's needs and their objective for employing you.

The client profile questions shown below are just a starting point for asking questions that might seem too obvious or simple to ask but are nonetheless valuable. Understanding your client profile from the beginning is a good way to finish in a timely fashion while meeting specific expectations.

 

Project goal
Describe the project goal.
What do you want to accomplish?
How will the project be used?

Target audience
Who will be the user of the material?
Do they have a medical education?
What is the range of subject knowledge for the user?
What kind of delivery system will best suit the topic and the typical user?
What is the range of technology experience of users?
How often will the user view the project?

Design considerations
How are you going to reach your target audience?
How will you establish your credentials and the validity of your findings?
Does the project have to “earn” attention?
How can the project maintain clarity and consistency?
Are there colors or graphics (such as logos) from an existing corporate image that need to be incorporated?

Organization
How should the content be organized?
How many levels of content are there?
Does the content need to be available to different users on different levels in different ways?
