News you need

Flexible spending account enrollment

Open enrollment for 2019 Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) ends Monday, Nov. 19. Eligible employees may set aside pre-tax dollars to cover out-of-pocket health care and day care expenses. Prior participants must re-enroll. Review eligible expenses.

Commuter benefit

The University provides parking on campus for all students, faculty, staff and visitors at rates designed to cover the costs of providing and maintaining parking facilities and operation. As we communicated in July, due to new federal tax laws, employee parking deductions are now withheld on a post-tax basis, rather than pre-tax. The commuter fringe benefit was not impacted by these laws. Employees may still utilize the commuter benefit program to set aside up to $260 per month on a pre-tax basis by enrolling though ASI Flex.

Minimum wage increase

The state of Delaware minimum wage is increasing to $8.75 per hour effective January 1, 2019. Employees under the minimum will automatically be adjusted to the new minimum rate. Departments do not need to complete a JED form. See the State of Delaware website for more information.

W-2 forms now online

Active University of Delaware employees can now access their W-2 forms online any time. Download 2014-2017 W-2 forms via UD Web Views. 2018 forms will be available in January 2019. The payroll department will continue to mail original forms to homes each year. For more information please visit the payroll website.
