Welcome to Working at UD

Several departments at UD have formed a collaboration to provide employees a more cohesive presentation of benefits and services and to increase engagement. The partnership will be reflected in this monthly email, previously called HR News & Information. In addition, a new web page, Working at UD, brings together information on campus events, courses, benefits and employee stories for a “one-stop” experience for faculty and staff.

Performance appraisals

The 2020 performance appraisal forms are now available. The annual appraisal covers the period Feb. 1, 2019 through Jan. 31, 2020. Instructions and forms are available on the Talent Development web page, and talent development resources are available in ConnectingU on the HR ATLAS tab under Performance. Completed performance appraisals are due March 31.

UDTime – amending timesheets

Time-sheet approvers (supervisors and timekeepers) are now able to directly make adjustments to non-union hourly employee time sheets without having to submit the Amended Time Sheet Request Form. Review the training videos and job aids for instructions.

Read Across America

Spread the joy of reading! The National Education Association’s Read Across America, an annual reading awareness and celebration program, takes place on March 2. UD will partner once again with United Way of Delaware (UWDE) at UD’s Early Learning Center for the event. Sign up to be a reader or contact UWDE to arrange a book donation.

ReHenergize on March 10

ReHenergize, an event for UD employees to reconnect with the University, will be held on Tuesday, March 10, from 8:30-10 a.m. in the North Atrium of STAR Campus. Come learn about new and existing services for employees and network with colleagues. Register to attend.

Secure UD training

UD Information Technologies is partnering with Human Resources to offer Secure UD Training. The training equips employees with the knowledge and skills to protect themselves and the University from cyber risks at home, in the office or abroad. Look for an enrollment notification from the Learning System Administrator (noreply@sumtotalsystems.com) with instructions. Learn more.

Faculty retirement information sessions

Human Resources will be holding retirement information sessions for faculty to learn about retirement criteria and benefits. Sessions will be held on Friday, Feb. 28 at 1 p.m. in Townsend Hall, Room 233, and Monday, March 2 at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in the Morris Library, Class of 1941 Lecture Room. Registration is not required.

Faculty and staff are invited to the inaugural 2020 Day of Purpose conference on March 25. Learn how to use purpose, elevate your work and be your best self. Applications for the second cohort of Diversity Engagement Fellows are now available. Fellows are charged with researching and reporting best practices around issues of diversity, equity and inclusion as a means of furthering UD’s inclusive excellence goals. Learn more and apply.
