As another Homecoming Weekend approaches, I invite every Blue Hen to bring the Blue and Gold to life in spirit, tradition and celebration.

All of us—faculty and staff, students and parents, and more than 160,000 alumni worldwide—have memories of UD and reasons to celebrate our connection to this special place. That is what Homecoming is about ... looking back with fondness, reconnecting with old friends, reliving memories and creating new ones, and showing pride in our University.

I encourage each and every one of you to spend Homecoming here in Newark, taking advantage of the many activities we have in store. I’ll be looking for you—please stop and say hello so I can welcome you home.

PEP RALLY

All students, alumni, faculty, and staff are invited to participate in the second annual Pep Rally on Friday, October 17 at 4:30 p.m. in Gym 2 in the Carpenter Sports Building (the Little Bob)!  Celebrate Homecoming with special performances, the University of Delaware cheerleaders and dance team, YoUDee and more!

HOMECOMING WEEK

The Student Homecoming Committee has planned a week of events for Blue Hens to celebrate their UD spirit. The UD Amazing Race will return along with dodgeball and volleyball competitions, and daily Spirit Stations. Other events include the Homecoming Step Show, the Pep Rally & Banner Contest, a game day tailgate, and voting for the 2014 Homecoming King & Queen.

Alumni Recognition

PRESIDENTIAL CITATION

The Presidential Citation for Outstanding Achievement honors University of Delaware graduates of the last 20 years who exhibit great promise in their professional career and/or public service activities. Recognition will take place on Friday, October 17 at 5:30 p.m. in Gore Recital Hall, Roselle Center for the Arts.

OUTSTANDING ALUMNI

Presented annually to alumni in recognition of their exemplary work on behalf of the University of Delaware and/or the UD Alumni Association, the Presidential Citation for Outstanding Achievement and the UDAA Outstanding Alumni Award will be presented on Saturday, October 18 at halftime of the UD football game.
