Gina Siddiqui

Gina is graduating from UD this fall after studying economics and a smattering of other stuff she thinks will make her a better physician-policymaker. She came up with the idea for GrassBranches last year after realizing that she ignited her passion, health care, by talking to people from different backgrounds who had the same passion. She wants GrassBranches to lead you to a conversation you wouldn't have had otherwise, and she hopes that conversation ignites your passion, too.

Matt Churgin

Matt is from Flemington, NJ, and will graduate in 2010. He is an electrical engineer at the University of Delaware. For his work, he has earned a place in the Electrical Engineers honor society, Eta Kappa Nu. Matt's interests don't end there, though. He plays the guitar, writes and records his own music, plays Frisbee, rock climbs, and participates in intramurals. Matt thinks that GrassBranches is important because, "Getting the chance to meet real-life heroes is difficult for most of us. If you don't have a personal contact it is almost impossible to get in touch with important leaders. GrassBranches contacts and gives you first hand access to the leaders you want to meet."

Caitlin is a University of Delaware student, set to graduate in 2012. Hailing from Corning, NY, she majors in Dietetics. She carries her passion for her major out of the classroom, as she participates in the Nutrition and Dietetics Club and Kappa Omicron Nu Honor Society. She is also a Language Partner for the English Language Institute and a member of Alpha Lambda Delta. She loves tennis, traveling, and the great outdoors. As for GrassBranches, she thinks "that GrassBranches allows our generation of leaders to both develop their passions and inspire others to share those passions."

Glen Saunders

Glen resides in Millsboro, DE, and will grace the halls of the University of Delaware until 2010. He double-majors in Finance and Management Information Systems. Glen is interested in business and he participates in the Blue Hen Investment Club. Glen also loves learning, and he made a lifelong goal to learn and do just about everything. Currently he's knocking out some reading, rock-climbing, technology, and Tae Kwon Do. Glen had this to say about GrassBranches: "GrassBranches allows students to have personal, relatively informal conversations and discussions with an influential leader that allow dialogue and understanding, that is otherwise difficult to achieve when asking questions from the audience of a large gathering or through letters and emails."

Gealina Dun

Gealina is set to graduate in 2012 from the University of Delaware. She is a Freshman Fellow, a Russell Fellow, a DuPont scholar, and a member of the Medical Scholars Program. Does she sound like a brain surgeon? She actually majors in Neuroscience. Gealina loves reading, volunteering, cooking, and crocheting. GrassBranches, for Gealina, is "a great networking site that allows students to learn from their heroes and then apply what they've learned to the real world. It takes mentoring and networking to a whole new level that I am very excited about."

Chris Anderson

Chris will (hopefully) graduate from the University of Delaware in 2012 with a degree in economics. He's from Staten Island, NY, and loves playing intramurals- especially basketball, football, and volleyball. In his spare time, he enjoys writing, reading, and music. He's a member of Phi Sigma Pi honor fraternity. Why does Chris think GrassBranches is important? "GrassBranches will hopefully change the way that leadership is perceived, so there are fewer boundaries between students and possible mentors."

Jeremy Diamond

Jerm is a Visual Communication Arts major, who will attend Virginia Tech until 2010. He's provided artistic insights for this web site's design, as well as inspiring the rest of GrassBranches members to look as good in photographs as he does. He is a native Virginian, growing up in Reston. On campus, he plays basketball, soccer, and water polo intramurally. Jerm is a self-professed hippie- he loves planting, making sweet music, videogames, longboarding, and biking to the ends of the earth. He believes GrassBranches is important because, "it has the potential of opening gateways to greater worlds."

Dima Qassim

Dima Qassim is a graduate student majoring in Public Administration. She is interested in everything from community development and nonprofit leadership to government and public policy and technology. She reads a lot, especially fiction and history. She also likes to travel and have cultural shocks. So far, she has been to 12 countries around the world, and 16 states in the United States. She joined GrassBranches because she wanted to meet as many leaders as possible. She thinks Grassbranches "offers a unique opportunity of meeting with a leader in person and actually having a conversation with them." For her, the meetings are both beneficial and inspirational. She thinks that if you join GrassBranches you will see for yourself (even if that sounds cliche)!
