Dr. Komatireddy is a practicing Internal Medicine physician and entrepreneur recently who currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer of two funded healthcare technology startups in California. Dr. Komatireddy was recently awarded a Masters in Clinical and Translational Investigation after completing a an NIH sponsored research fellowship at the Scripps Translational Science Institute with Dr. Eric Topol where he served as the first Scholar in Wireless Medicine and is currently faculty. His research focus is in the application of emerging wireless and mobile technologies for clinical medicine and he’s currently involved in several clinical trials testing mobile health technologies for cardiac disease and wireless chronic disease monitoring. His primary research project at Scripps involved the development and clinical assessment of a diagnostic and therapeutic technology platform designed to improve outcomes for patients undergoing physical rehabilitation using a novel motion tracking camera system. Working in conjunction with the West Health Institute this research was transferred to a San Diego based startup – Reflexion Health Inc. to commercialize this technology and is currently funded through the West Health Incubator. His other work involves the ongoing development and clinical testing of clinical decision support software that uses intelligent algorithms to provide point of care medical guidance to both clinicians and patients as the Chief Medical Officer of Lumiata Inc in San Mateo California. Additionally, he is involved in the clinical application of wireless medical devices for human aerospace applications such as parabolic, suborbital, and orbital flight and was recently awarded a NASA grant to test novel physiologic monitoring technology on commercial astronaut candidates during simulated microgravity via parabolic flight testing. Research findings in this area will subsequently be investigated for spin-off opportunities in clinical medicine. Dr. Komatireddy completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at Dartmouth Hitchcock medical center in New Hampshire and the University of California – San Diego. He received his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
