2D Class policy

Class Attendance:
. Class attendance is important and is recorded for each class. More than three unexcused absences will result in a grade penalty.

Project Deadlines:
. Most classes will have at least some part of an assignement due. The work is expected to be ready for a critique at the beginning of class. It should be adequately thought out, technically well presented and crafted to match the level of expectation.

Class Notebook:
. As part of the class, you must maintain a notebook to store the assignments and record information relating to the course content, assignments, thoughts about solutions and any other observations. Bring this notebook to every class.
As a requirement of each assignement you are to included in the notebook a list of things you learned or observed as a result of the assignment. Your are required to turn in the notebook near the end of the semester for grading.

Final Portfolio:
. At the end of the semester you will be required to submit a portfolio representing the work from most of the assignments of the semester. It is important that you keep all of your work and that your protect it from damage. This work will be important for any application to the BFA which requires a portfolio representing all four Foundation courses.

Grades:
. Most projects and exercises are graded and collectively added toward your final grade. Each project will be graded on a variety of issues such as effort, craft, inventiveness, visual impact, etc. Grades on individual assignments should be viewed in a broad sense. Semester grades are an evaluation of a larger block of time and begin to say more about your overall potential.
