Viruses and Other "Rogue Programs"

Code of the Web
Computer viruses, worms, trojan horses, and other "rogue programs" are a serious problem for all computer users.

  • If your computer is connected to the Internet, or, for that matter, to any network,
  • if you send and receive e-mail,
  • if you share files or disks with friends or colleagues, or
  • if you allow other people to use your computer,
your computer may be affected by these rogue programs.

Therefore, it is imperative that every University of Delaware computer user learns how to protect his or her computer(s) from these programs.

Doing so will protect your computer from damage, protect the information you have stored on your computer, protect the networks to which your computer is connected, and protect other computers connected to the networks to which your computer is connected.
