Management Certificate of Excellence—Registration open

Registration is open for Human Resources’ new Management Certificate of Excellence, which begins in January 2023. Participants seeking the certificate will complete five core and three elective courses being delivered both live (Zoom or in-person) and online. Newly hired or newly promoted managers will be required to complete the certificate within the first six months of entering their role. Current and aspiring managers are strongly encouraged to participate as well.

Hear the perspectives of three current managers about the new certificate in this 2-minute video.

Visit ConnectingU to learn more and register.

Holiday schedule

The University’s holiday break begins for most faculty and staff on Monday, Dec. 26. Offices will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 3, when Winter Session begins. Learn more about adjusted hours for campus operations.

Minimum wage increase

Effective Jan. 1, 2023, the State of Delaware’s minimum wage will increase from $10.50 to $11.75. The Payroll office will automatically update any employee whose hourly rate is currently below the new minimum wage. If an employee is already at or above the new minimum wage, no action will be taken.

Electronic W-2 forms

Employees may elect to receive their 2022 W-2 forms electronically. Employers must comply with specific IRS regulations to use electronic W-2s, and employees must provide their consent to receive an electronic W-2 instead of a paper copy. If you have already submitted your consent for Tax Year 2022, you do not need to take further action. Learn more or review your W-2 Electronic Consent Form.

Featured jobs

UD is always looking for good people, and Human Resources is pleased to announce a new pilot program that rewards current employees for recommending candidates for positions in IT, Procurement, Facilities and UD Police. Through the Refer a Friend program, your recommendation of someone who could be a good addition to the UD team could be worth $500 to you. To participate, you can share a job posting with candidates directly by using the “Refer a Friend” button displayed below the job description on all award-eligible positions. Learn more about the complete program guidelines and eligibility requirements here. Each candidate you refer must create a Talent Link account and include your name and email on the application. The incentive applies only to external, non-UD candidates, and they must work at UD for a minimum of six months in order for you to receive the $500. As an added incentive, all employees who refer at least one eligible candidate will be entered into an annual giveaway of Blue Hen swag and other prizes.

Please help spread the word about these positions that are currently vacant.

Your year-end support for UD

UD is thankful for you and the impact you make for Blue Hen students and the campus community throughout the year as an employee. As we wrap up the calendar year, you can give the gift of opportunity and support the campus programs you care about most by making a one-time gift or setting up a recurring gift through employee payroll deduction. If you currently give through payroll deduction, your gift automatically renews annually on the date your initial gift went into effect. If you need to make adjustments or if you have questions, please email the Office of Development and Alumni Relations at gift-updates@udel.edu.
