Monday - Friday

Java Time 6:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
Wake up with a special blend of Java on The Voice of the University of Delaware. Get a different taste of music from a different deejay each day. Chock full of humor, news, weather, sports and many genres of music. Java Time is a fresh alternative to run of the mill morning radio. Tune in and you'll never oversleep your clock radio again!

Roots 9:00 a.m. - noon
Travel around the world of folk music folk music: bluegrass, British Isles, American, blues, folk-rock, Indonesian gamelan, African high-life, contemporary songwriters and traditional balladeers. All kinds of folk for all kinds of folks. Concert announcements daily at 11 a.m.

Fine Tuning noon - 3:00 p.m.
The entire spectrum of classical music, not just the classical Top 40. Hear everything from 17th-century European composers to avant-garde 20th-century classical musicians. Programs range from composers' birthday tributes to highlights of new classical releases.

Club 91three 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
An urban progressive program of fresh music for the '90s, born of the black experience. The newest in rap, hip-hop and dance. Club 91.3 brings the best to you every day.

Cutting Edge 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Other stations claim it we prove it! Alternative, modern, new, whatever you call it, it's on WVUD's Cutting Edge. Our deejays bring you music from the grungy to the goofy, from the dancy to the demonic...from artists and musicians brave enough to challenge the traditional. Listen to the future on the Edge.

Specialty Shows 8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

  • Monday:  Map of the World: From Algeria to Zaire, Annabouboula to Zvuki Mu, you'll hear the best music from around the globe. Featuring international collaborations, traditional folk and new pop, the show is a two-hour musical tour of our planet.
  • Tuesday:  All Tomorrow's Parties: A historical slant on Cutting Edge music featuring cover versions, borrowed music, inspirations, and connections &emdash; real or imagined.
  • Wednesday:  The Green Willow: Celtic music new and old direct from the British Isles. Everything from jigs to ballads.
  • Thursday:  Reggae Soundsplash: All styles of reggae and some related ³riddims² splash down in the middle of your mind on WVUD's Reggae Soundsplash. Featured releases, insight, and concert updates, make for...cool runnings.
  • Friday:  Red Hot and Blues: Ron "Roadblock" Smith brings you the one and only blues show in Delaware. Rare blues recordings and live bands keep this show cookin'!
  • Earth and Sky: Explore the universe with Joel Block and Deborah Byrd. Heard three times daily: 10 a.m., 2:57 p.m. and at 10 p.m. Earth & Sky's Home Page

Avenue C 10:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m.
Delaware's only daily jazz show Late night jazz at its jazziest. A wide range of artists, special concert tapes, live performances, and the latest releases of the genre.

Overnight Monday through Friday 1 a.m. - 6 a.m.
Saturday, midnight - 6 a.m. Sunday, 1:00 - 6:00 a.m. WVUD's freeform variety program. Can't sleep? Tired of late night TV? This is your show! Tune in every night for a unique style from each deejay and a variety of tunes to kick the late night blues.

Even Steven's Boptime 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
The music of the '40s, '50s, and '60s. A little bebop, hotbop and cool school mixed in with R&B, and a little pop, and a whole lotta rock 'n' roll. Snippets from magazines, and newspapers and television of the period are aired for your step back in to this era of bop, pop and rock.

Fire on the Mountain 10:00 a.m. - noon

Rural Free Delivery noon - 2:00 p.m.
noon - 2:00 p.m. Climb abroad the mail wagon with John Lupton and George Mercer as they travel the mountain roads and honky-tonk highways of American music, delivering the best of 70 years of recorded bluegrass, country, and old-time music.

Emory Marshall lifts your spirits with great traditional and contemporary gospel music.

Jose Prado presents Latin music on the area's oldest bilingual radio program!

Jerry Grant spins the platters, playing R&B; and soul music from the '50s, '60s and '70s with updates on the sounds of Motown.

A Room of One's Own 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
From classical violinist Nadja Salerno Sonnenberg to Edith Piaf to Me'shell N'Degeocello, A Room of One's Own showcases the creative achievements of women artists. Through interviews and special news features, the program will also provide a forum to highlight a broad spectrum of women's issues.

All the World's a Stage 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
A musical program devoted to soundtrack recordings from Broadway to Hollywood.
