Donald Lyman, AS52M, 52PhD, of Lacey, Wisc., a retired professor from the University of Utah, has published a paper on infrared spectroscopy and is continuing with research through his retirement.
1960s
Fred C. Sears II, BE64, 71M,
of Wilmington, Del., longtime president and CEO of the Delaware Community Foundation (since 2002), has announced his plans to retire, effective Dec. 31, 2015.
1970s
Shirley Magana, HS71, 71M, of Corning, N.Y., retired as president and CEO of a Corning New York hospital group.
Laurie Townsend Stuart, AS73,
of Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich., has been selected as the 2014 recipient of the Library Staff Memorial and Fellowship Association Award. She is the coordinator of the Frederick Douglass Branch for Specialized Services at the Detroit Public Library.
Edward Zabielski Jr., ANR73, of Landenberg, Pa., has earned the top national sales award from AIG Financial Network, the sales and distribution arm of the American International Group’s life insurance and retirement business.
E. Thomas Harvey III, BE75, of Wilmington, Del., co-founder and chairman of TKo Hospitality in Newport, Del., will soon begin work on five new hotels in Maryland and Pennsylvania.
Kenneth J. Lagowski, BE76,
of New Castle, Del., recently completed 30 years as the office administrator of the clerk of the Delaware Court of Chancery and is in his 39th overall year of service in the Delaware Judiciary.
Jean Eckrich, HS77, of Hopkinton, N.H., was recently awarded the Nancy Beyer Opler ’56 Award
for Excellence in Advising from Colby-Sawyer College. The award recognizes a faculty member who is accessible to advisees, makes
a meaningful connection with advisees that continues over time, supports advisees in academic
and professional planning and facilitates advisees’ adjustment to the community.
Joseph J. Rhoades, AS77, of Wilmington, Del., has partnered with Stephen T. Morrow, Esq., and changed his company name to Rhoades & Morrow LLC, which represents injured persons throughout Delaware.
Patricia Steingall, HS77, 05M,
of Washington, N.J., was included on Becker’s Hospital Review’s list
of the 130 women hospital and health system leaders to know. She is vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer for Hunterdon Healthcare.
James (Jay) Taylor, AS78, of Little Egg Harbor, N.J., was elected by the Township Committee of Cranbury, N.J. to serve as mayor in 2015.
Stephen P. Clark, BE79M,
of Hockessin, Del., is now a commercial banking officer with WSFS Financial Corporation.
Donna Usher, AS79, of West Chester, Pa., recently donated her work, Nature’s Connections, to the new Downingtown Library. She has artwork in the permanent collections of public and private entities around the world and is a professor emerita of art at West Chester University.
Timothy E. Winstead, HS79, of Lewes, Del., is now director of public safety at Delaware Technical Community College. He retired from the Delaware State Police
with the rank of captain after 27 years of service.
1980s
Shari L. Aronson, BE80, of New York, N.Y., and her spouse, Jeffery, committed $10 million to Johns Hopkins University to give students new opportunities in international relations and to enhance scholarly work on major world issues.
Marc Auerbach, BE80, of Coral Gables, Fla., has joined the Cozen O’Connor law firm as a member of Health Care Practice in its Miami office.
Kathy Berek, EG80, of Fort Worth, Texas, will be leading the water division at the Houston office of Burns & McDonnell,
an international engineering, architecture and consulting firm.
Sarah A. Long, AS80, of Wilmington, Del., was named president of the Delaware Bankers Association at the DBA’s 120th Annual Meeting earlier this spring.
William Jack Riddle, BE80, of Ocean View, Del., was appointed president of Community Bank Delaware, headquartered in Lewes.
Collins J. Seitz, Jr., AS80, of Wilmington, Del., was sworn in on May 1 as a Delaware Supreme Court Justice.
Michael T. French, BE81, of Newark, Del., is now managing director of Belfint, Lyons & Shuman, P.A., a certified public accounting
