Comedian, author Maz Jobrani next speaker in 'Race in America' series
8:16 a.m., Oct. 19, 2015--Maz Jobrani, comedian and author of I’m Not a Terrorist, But I’ve Played One on TV, will speak as part of the University of Delaware’s National Agenda speaker and film series on “Race in America: Conversations about Identity and Equality.”
Jobrani will speak at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 21, in Mitchell Hall on the UD campus in Newark.

The presentation, which will be moderated by Lindsay Hoffman, associate professor in UD’s Department of Communication and associate director of the Center for Political Communication, is free and open to the public.
Jobrani is a founding member of the Axis of Evil Comedy Tour, which first aired on Comedy Central. He has since had two Showtime specials featuring his stand-up comedy.
Jobrani has performed for a variety of audiences, including on The Tonight Show, as well as for the king of Jordan while touring the Middle East. His work has been featured on CNN, the BBC, The New York Times and Time Magazine.
His comedic style focuses on race, breaking stereotypes, and the misunderstanding of Middle Easterners in America.
Jobrani’s best-selling book, I’m Not a Terrorist, But I’ve Played One on TV, was published in February 2015 and will be available for purchase at his talk.
About the series
The 2015 National Agenda series includes six speakers and four films designed to stimulate conversations about equality and identity, all scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays in Mitchell Hall on the UD campus in Newark. Presentations are free and open to the public.
The director of the series is Lindsay Hoffman, associate director of UD's Center for Political Communication.
