UD’s College of Health Sciences offers undergraduate and graduate courses through its School of Nursing and departments of Behavioral Health and Nutrition, Kinesiology and Applied Physiology, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Physical Therapy and Communication Sciences and Disorders.
Each of these specialized programs gives students the knowledge and skills to assist with patient diagnosis and treatment, College Factual said, adding that UD “students gain real world experience under the supervision of a highly trained faculty.”
College Factual concluded, “The undergraduate health professions majors learn to take what they’ve learned in the classroom and apply it to clinical situations as they prepare to become leaders in the medical field. Students leave UD with confidence and ambition, leading to jobs with an average mid-career salary of $79,000.”
"Through our amazing faculty, our cutting edge research programs, and our signature interdisciplinary programs, we seek to educate and train the next generation of health care leaders,” said Kathy Matt, dean of UD’s College of Health Sciences. “The platform for health care education is not a classroom at all, it's a lab, it's a clinic, it's a design space, which enables us to give our students a hands on experience of the future of health care delivery. We're proud of what the college has been able to accomplish and will continue to find new and innovative ways to educate and train our students."
UD’s College of Health Sciences is housed on main campus and in the leading edge Health Sciences Complex on the Science, Technology and Advanced Research (STAR) Campus, where it offers Physical Therapy Clinics and a Nurse Managed Health Center.
The college is a partner in the Delaware Health Sciences Alliance with Christiana Care Health System, Thomas Jefferson University and Nemours.
