Athletic training accolades
UD's Athletic Training Education Program has been selected for the 2016 Bill Cramer Professional Development Award, an annual recognition given to only one school in the nation.
Warren Award
Rosalind Johnson, assistant dean for student success in the NUCLEUS Program in UD's College of Arts and Sciences, was presented the John Warren Excellence in Leadership and Service Award during a May 26 ceremony.
National Medal of Science
President Barack Obama recently presented the National Medal of Science to University of Delaware alumnus Rakesh Jain.
Library recognition
The University of Delaware Library has announced that Hannah Lee, assistant librarian and program coordinator for the multimedia literacy program at the Student Multimedia Design Center, received the Delaware Library Association Citation for Academic Libraries during a ceremony May 6.
Outstanding student teachers
Ten students have received Outstanding Student Teacher awards for their work in middle school and high school classrooms.
Health Sciences awards
The University of Delaware College of Health Sciences honored faculty and staff award winners during its final all-college meeting of the academic year.
Parkman Prize
The University of Delaware's Christine Leigh Heyrman has won a top prize from the Society of American Historians for her book about the first American Protestant missionaries who traveled to the Middle East to reach out to Muslims in the 19th century.
Warren Award
Chris Cook, chief business officer for the College of Engineering, has been presented the University of Delaware's John Warren Excellence in Leadership and Service Award.
Gold Circle Award
Marriott's Courtyard Newark-University of Delaware hotel has won a Marriott International Gold Circle Award for excellence in guest service and satisfaction.
Underdogs no more
A team from UD's Army ROTC program placed third among eight ROTC teams at the Sandhurst International Military Skills Competition.
Alison Award
Mary Dozier, internationally known for her work in the development of vulnerable young children who have experienced neglect or other adversity, has received the University of Delaware's Francis Alison Faculty Award.

The article focuses on a study by Freda Patterson, assistant professor in the University of Delaware's Department of Behavioral Health and Nutrition, that says the timing of your nightly slumber may also influence your cardiovascular health, and night owls might want to think hard about changing their habits. “Someone who goes to bed later may have extended evening time that tends to be spent watching TV and eating unhealthy foods,” Patterson says.
