5:42 p.m., Oct. 15, 2013--The Entrepreneurship Club (E-Club) will host as its first venture a professional picture photo shoot to give University of Delaware students the opportunity to obtain a quality photo for use on professional social networks on Wednesday, Oct. 16.

The event, which is open to all undergraduate and graduate students, will be held from 4-7 p.m. in the Alfred Lerner Hall Atrium.

Events Stories

June 5: Blue Hen 5K

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

The photo session is free for E-Club members and $5 for non-members. Each participant will be sent one digital retouched image. Students are advised to dress in appropriate attire.

According to students in E-Club, they recognize the importance of having a polished and unique profile in the competitive job market; they also plan to use revenue from the event wisely.

“We took a poll on our group page and the general consensus seems to be we will use most or all of the revenue to reinvest in future ventures,” said Sean Carey, an E-Club executive board member, who noted the club’s goal of having a continuous revenue steam available for reinvestments in other pursuits. “But we always pass around ideas of donating to charity (such as trying to donate leftover Free Lunch Friday food to homeless shelters), so whatever money we don't reinvest in new micro-ventures for our entrepreneurs, we most likely would use for philanthropic causes.”

About E-Club

The Entrepreneurship Club at the University of Delaware is the premiere resource for all aspiring student entrepreneurs. The club’s goal is to build a close-knit community for students of all majors who are interested in starting their own business.

E-Club aims to provide opportunities for networking with fellow student entrepreneurs, give students an outlet for learning and connecting with experienced professionals, and utilize the UD campus as a launch pad for student business ideas.
