Delaware Design Institute sets 'Integrated Design' event at STAR Campus
9:37 a.m., May 7, 2014--The Delaware Design Institute at the University of Delaware will hold an “Integrated Design” event from 4:30-6:30 p.m., Thursday, May 15, in the atrium at the Science, Technology and Advanced Research (STAR) Campus.
There will be opening remarks by UD Provost Domenico Grasso and College of Health Sciences Dean Kathy Matt, a panel presentation and a design showcase.

The panel will include:
Cole Galloway, associate professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and developer of the Go Baby Go project, who will speak on the topic “Fast and Furious: A Model for Rapid and Emergent Technology Research, Development and Commercialization;”
Ralph Cope, a UD alumnus and owner of Accudyne LLC, who will speak on the topic “A Mechanical Engineer’s Perspective on Design;” and
Steve Cope, a UD alumnus and owner of Accudyne LLC, who will speak on the topic “The Mobility System Story.”
Accudyne LLC is the maker of the Go Baby Go harness systems that allow mobility for people with disabilities.
There will be refreshments, and UDairy Creamery ice cream will be served at the Go Baby Go café.
“The Delaware Design Institute is a hub for design innovation and education on UD campus and the broader region, bringing together scholars, students, thinkers, and tinkerers in the community to share brain power and resources to develop creative solutions,” a representative said.
The event is “an opportunity to celebrate and showcase the amazing design activities across the UD campus and across disciplines.”
Before and after the presentations, UD research and projects will be highlighted in the Design Showcase.
