
Feb. 26: Haven to host Allums
UD's Haven sponsors talk by transgender advocate Kye Allums
8:20 a.m., Feb. 24, 2014--Haven, the University of Delaware's only LGBTQ registered student organization, will host a presentation by transgender advocate Kye Allums at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 26, in the Rodney Room of the Perkins Student Center.
Allums attended George Washington University, where he played basketball and became the first black male transgender athlete in the history of NCAA Division I collegiate sports.

Allums is now a public speaker, mentor, and director of Project I Am Enough, which is dedicated to sharing LGBTQ voices from around the world.
Allums will share his story about becoming the first Division I openly transgender athlete, issues surrounding being a queer person of color, and the inspiration behind his mantra, “I Am Enough.”
The event is free and will include free food and a reception following the lecture in the Perkins Student Center West Lounge.
