Oct. 1: Judge Milian on 'Courting Diversity'
People's Court Judge Marilyn Milian to speak at UD
2:31 p.m., Sept. 17, 2012--Judge Marilyn Milian of the popular The People’s Court television show will speak at 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 1, in Mitchell Hall as part of the Latino Heritage Month Extravaganza.
Milian’s topic will be “Courting Diversity: Media, Latinos and the Law.” The talk is free and open to the public, and the doors will open at 6:30.

Milian has more than 19 years of legal experience and formerly worked by Harvard Law School’s Guatemala Project, Miami County’s Domestic Violence Court and the Dade County State Attorney’s Office.
She is a graduate of the University of Miami and received her law degree from the Georgetown Law School.
Her philanthropic support includes the Miami Museum of Science and southern Florida’s Children’s Cancer Center summer camp.
As part of the event, gently used books are being collected to be donated to the Latin American Community Center for the holidays.
The talk is sponsored by the Center for Black Culture, Student Life, Residence Life, the Office of Equity and Inclusion, the Department of Political Science and International Relations, Campus Alliance de La Raza, HOLA, the Multicultural Greek Congress and SPIT.
