UD Career Services Center to host open house for freshmen

9:46 a.m., Sept. 24, 2012--The University of Delaware Career Services Center will host an open house for freshmen from 3-5 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 17.

The open house will be held in the lobby and workshop room of the center, 401 Academy St. There will be prizes and refreshments.

June 5: Blue Hen 5K

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

At the event, Career Services representatives will introduce freshmen to the CareerMAP, a guide to individual career success that incorporates developmental questions and specific targets for students to meet and follow throughout their tenure at UD.

Students will also have the opportunity to meet their Career Services liaisons and participate in a tour of the center.

The open house is designed to help freshmen learn how Career Services can help them connect their major to career options, find an internship or volunteer opportunity, assess interests and skills, and provide information on resumes. 

Students who are interested in attending can RSVP by logging into their Blue Hen Careers account at the Career Services Center website.
