June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

Participants will compete in basic and advanced soccer events that include dribbling, passing and shooting skills. In addition, Young Athletes (ages 7 and younger) will demonstrate soccer skills, as will athletes in the Motor Activity Training Program.

“Soccer is one of the most popular Special Olympics sports not only here in Delaware, but around the world,” says Gary Cimaglia, senior director of sports. “This event is a great way for our athletes to learn the basic skills of the game during their practices and then have the opportunity to demonstrate those skills in a competition against each other.”
