New University Library exhibition titled 'Motoring into Archives Month'
8:52 a.m., Oct. 8, 2012--The University of Delaware Library has announced the opening of a new exhibition “Motoring into Archives Month” in the single case near the Information Desk in the Information Room on the first floor of the Morris Library.
The exhibition, which will be on view through Oct. 31, displays a fascinating selection of primary sources from Special Collections of the University of Delaware Library pertaining to driving and the automobile in the early years of the 20th century. An online version of the exhibition is available.

American Archives Month is a collaborative effort by professional organizations and repositories around the nation to highlight the importance of records of enduring value. For 2012, the University of Delaware Library Special Collections is “Motoring into Archives Month” with selections that highlight early automobiles and their drivers in Delaware and beyond.
“Motoring into Archives Month” was curated by Jaime Margalotti, senior assistant librarian in the Manuscript and Archives Department. Laurie Rizzo, assistant librarian in the Special Collections Department, worked on the design and installation of the physical and virtual exhibition.
