Emory University's Kasfir to present Wayne Craven Lecture

8:41 a.m., March 11, 2013--Sidney Kasfir, professor emerita of art history at Emory University, will present the University of Delaware Department of Art History’s Wayne Craven Lecture at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, March 14, in 127 Memorial Hall.

Kasfir will speak on the topic “Can This Patient Be Saved? Schism and Generational Shift in the Field of African Art History.”

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

The lecture honors Craven, Henry Francis du Pont Professor Emeritus of Art History at UD, who was among the pioneer scholars of his generation in helping establish the field of American art as a legitimate subject of scholarly investigation.
