UD Farmers Market returns to Mentors' Circle on Thursdays

11:32 a.m., June 6, 2013--Kicking off its fourth annual season, the University of Delaware’s summer Farmers Market will launch its popular services on Thursday, June 13, at Mentors’ Circle.

The Farmers Market, to be held every Thursday through Sept. 12, offers a wide array of locally grown produce, baked goods, spices and more from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

June 5: Blue Hen 5K

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

Along with items from more than 21 local area farms, the market includes a Chef’s Table where visitors can sample and take home unique summer recipes including a marinated cauliflower salad, a grilled portabella mushroom and edamame salad, and a grilled shrimp and roasted red pepper pizza. 

The Farmers Market also offers UDairy Creamery ice cream in a wide variety of flavors to complete its diverse menu.

In case of inclement weather, the Farmers Market will move its operations to Friday, also at Mentors’ Circle.

Acceptable payment methods include points, flex, and cash.
