Jan. 15: Spirit teams send-off
UD spirit teams to perform national competition routines at The Bob
12:03 p.m., Jan. 3, 2013--The University of Delaware’s spirit squads – cheerleaders, dance team and mascots -- will be featured in a special national championships send-off event to be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the Bob Carpenter Center.
The teams are preparing to compete in the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) and Universal Dance Association (UDA) national cheerleading, dance and mascot championships to be held Jan. 18-20 at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla.

June 6-9: Food and culture series
The Blue Hens will preview their national championship routines at the event. The doors of the Bob Carpenter Center will open at 6:30 p.m.
UD’s mascot, YoUDee, will go to Florida as the two-time defending national champion in UCA’s open mascot division. YoUDee was selected for the 2013 competition based on a video, which can be seen above.
The UD cheerleaders finished second in the Division I championships in 2012 and the dance team, also in Division I, took second place in the hip-hop finals and ninth in the jazz finals.
