UD to participate in fourth annual international Foursquare Day

3:16 p.m., April 10, 2013--The University of Delaware will take part in the fourth annual international Foursquare Day on Tuesday, April 16.

Foursquare is a free, location-based smartphone app that allows users to “check-in” to locations with the goal of receiving virtual points and badges, as well as real-world deals and specials, while connecting with friends.

June 5: Blue Hen 5K

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

On 4/16 (or four, squared) students, visitors and community members are invited to check-in to three locations around campus, between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., to earn prizes and giveaways.

Participants who check-in to all three locations -- the University of Delaware Barnes and Noble Bookstore, California Tortilla and The Green -- will be entered to win a grand prize from the Apple Authorized Campus Store.

On Friday, April 12, there will be a UD Social Media Ambassador (SMA) kiosk located in Trabant University Center from 10 a.m.-noon. SMAs will be on hand to answer students’ questions about Foursquare and give out punch cards to those interested in joining in on the fun of Foursquare Day at UD. 

Foursquare can be downloaded for free on any smartphone at this site.
