Gibson is well known for his starring roles in the films Baby Boy, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Transformers and Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
In his new memoir, How to Get Out Your Own Way, Gibson said he hopes to inspire readers to pursue their dreams and not let life's obstacles get in the way.
In the Sept. 27 lecture, Gibson will share life lessons and how his mentor, Will Smith, helped him overcome a chaotic childhood by believing in him when he didn't believe in himself.
A book signing will follow the lecture.
