May 9: Greening students
Final sustainability lecture focuses on inspiring student education and action
9:42 a.m., May 7, 2012--Best practices in sustainability programming for UD students will be the focus of the next lunchtime Green Liaisons Sustainability Lecture Series session, scheduled from noon-1 p.m., Wednesday, May 9, in the Gallery at the Perkins Student Center
Katie Pifer and Amberdawn Griffith, residence hall coordinators in UD’s Office of Residence Life and members of the Office of Residence Life Sustainability Committee, will share their experience in defining and meeting student needs surrounding environmental sustainability. From critical conversations with students, the committee has helped create environmental sustainability initiatives targeted to students through education and action.

Based on an assessment plan under way to ensure the Office of Residence Life Sustainability Committee is maximizing opportunities and making environmental sustainability as accessible and available as possible, Pifer and Griffith will bring UD-specific insight to light.
Green Liaison Sustainability Lecture Series
Once a month, Green Liaisons are invited to attend a lunchtime presentation on the small steps that can be implemented by every student, faculty and staff member in order to make UD a greener place to learn, work and live.
All lunches in the Green Liaison Sustainability Lecture Series are open to Green Liaisons and will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Topics and locations change monthly. Drinks and dessert will be provided.
